Cynthia Payne Scholarship Due:

CRITERIA:

1. The student must complete a typed essay of no more than 500 words explaining the following: What do you
hope to accomplish with your degree in criminal justice and why have you made this your choice of study?
2. The student must be a graduating senior attending school in Biloxi or Gulfport.
3. The student must score a minimum of 18 on the ACT and/or a 2.5 grade point average and provide a copy
of his or her High School Transcript.
4. The student may be asked to participate in an interview with the Scholarship selection committee
5. The student must plan to, and subsequently enroll in, a college or university, accredited by one of the six
regional accrediting associations for colleges and schools. The scholarship award will be made directly to the
school.
6. The student must demonstrate his or her worthiness for the scholarship by completing this application in
its entirety.
7. Scholarship Application deadline is April 4, 2023, at 12 pm. Scholarship Applications submitted after the
deadline are not accepted. Recipients will receive notification by mail to the address included on the
application.
