Hurricane Relief Service Hours
As you know, Hurricane Helene recently left a path of absolute destruction through several states. Due to the mudslides and flash flooding caused by Helene, many communities, especially in North Carolina, have been wiped off the map and unable to communicate with the outside world except through aid drops from helicopters, ATVs, or pack mule and pack goat deliveries, where possible in the mountainous regions. Student Council and the National Honor Society will be collecting items to send to our fellow Catholic diocese and school communities near Asheville, North Carolina.
We are asking for donations of the following unused, sealed items. Students can receive one service hour for every four items donated up to two hours. Please drop off donations in the library with Mrs. Williams beginning tomorrow through October 25th.
baby diapers (all sizes)
personal hygiene items (travel size toothbrush, toothpaste, deoderant, etc.)
pet food (dry food in bags)
cases of water
packages of socks (all sizes)
flashlights (with batteries, if needed)
garbage bags (by the box)
paper towel rolls
disinfecting wipes (large container)
small ice chests
